About the Author
Dr. Prof. Tapash Dey is a seasoned Strategic HR Professional with over 20 years of industry experience and 10 years in academia. His vast expertise bridges both corporate and educational realms, making him a unique authorityin human resource practices and organizational dynamics.
He has specialized knowledge in Organizational Restructuring using the McKinsey 7S Framework, Organizational Design & Effectiveness, Job Evaluation, High-Potential Talent Management, Performance Management, and Rewards & Recognition Systems.
His professional journey includes managing the HR functions for 19 institutions simultaneously, encompassing colleges, hospitals, hotels, large-scale manufacturing units (with workforces ranging from 3,500 to 7,500 employees), retail chains, and seed plants. He has held leadership roles such as Vice President and General Manager in reputed organizations including UTI, Supreme Group, BJN Group, Nath Group, and prominent groups like Tata (TCS, Titan Industries) and Birla (Hindustan Motors).
In Academia, He served as Director of HR at SGT University, and has taught at esteemed institutions like Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS),NMIMS,
N.L. Dalmia Management College, and IES Management College. He is currently a Professor and Group Head of HR at MERI Group of Institutions.
He has authored seven research papers, many of which have been presented at reputed national and international conferences and has written 2 books duly published . He has been honored with awards by CII, MSME, IBSEA, and other esteemed bodies. His accolades include Best Paper Awards, invitations as a Guest of Honour, and recognition as a keynote speaker at multiple forums.
Dr. Dey holds a Ph.D , PGDHRM, MBA, EPM-HRM, EPM-IR, and M.Com.
He is certified in Competency Mapping, HR Analytics, Compensation & Benefits, Selection Skills, Thomas Profiling, Simulations, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Circles, and Train the Trainer Programs.
He has conducted training for professionals across India, including extensive sessions for HDFC Bank branches on Leadership and Emotional Intelligence, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and leadership development.
