Dr. Asha Nilkanth Rabb is a multi-lingual translator, translating from Kannada, Marathi and Hindi languages to English language and vice versa. Her translated stories and poems are published in “Aniketana”, a Sahitya Akademi journal and a “Hindi Akhar Patrika” an International e-journal. In the Stories from the Banks of River Krishna (2021), she has translated Kannada short-stories into chaste English. She has translated two Kannada books on Siddheshwar Swamiji of Vijayapur in English titled Beautiful Words for Beautiful Life and Footprints. She is translating a Marathi book which speaks of the Indian cultural practices titled Rutu Vaibhav: A Vision of Rich Indian Culture.
Dr. Asha N. Rabb’s three critical works – Indian Housewives: Subverting the Gendered Stereotypes (2020), Figuring the Gender: Reflections on Indian Cinema and Literature (2017) and Indian Widowhood: Culture, Literature and Cinema (2016) have proved to be the corner-stones of cross-lingual, cultural, interpretative and critical research on Intertextual Studies, Feminist Studies, Masculinity Studies and Film Studies in literature. These books have received wide reception over the world - in Australia, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, UK and USA; and in many Women’s Study Centres and Universities across the country. Her volumes on English Literature for Competitive Examinations (since 2009) have received ample Reviews from the aspirants for competitive examinations. They cover the areas of the History of English Literature from 14th century onwards. The multiple-choice-questions are exhaustive and informative in themselves.
Dr. Asha N. Rabb’s research articles as well as her Ph. D. thesis on Resistance Literature are referred and cited by the academicians and researchers in their writings which speak of her scholarly performance in her writings.
