ABOUT THE BOOK
This book is specifically designed and planned to cater to the growing requirements of the students and facilitators in the sphere of English literature for Competitive Examination. This book is extended to equip the readers to write the papers of competitive examinations such as UGC NET/JRF, SLET/PGT/TGT, and similar examinations with resounding success. The topics related to Indian Writing in English and World Literature have been prepared as per the latest syllabus of all the competitive examinations in relation to English language and literature so that it would provide the readers step by step approach to meet their set objectives. The book has been divided into Two Chapters along with a comprehensive list of selected books and to assess the progress of the readers, model test papers are provided.
 
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
 
Dr. Naveen K Mehta is presently working as Dean-Academics, Professor & Head, Department of English, SUBIS, Sanchi, M.P. He has more than 20 years of Research, Academic, and Teaching experience. He is UGC-NET & SLET qualified as well Post Graduate in three subjects as English Literature, Education and Business Management, awarded Double Ph.D.’s in English Literature and Management.  He is an Executive Education Alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore. He has been Honoured by the Prime Minister of India and Ministry of Human Resources Development of India in 2000. Prof. Mehta successfully completed Courses of Professional Development and Awarded Certificates of Achievement from MIT USA, Harvard University, USA University of Oxford, UK, University of Cambridge, UK, etc. He has been awarded and adjudged more than 06 times Best Paper Presenter in the International Seminars/Conferences of repute. Under his supervision, 08 students have been awarded Ph.D. M.Phil.  He has authored 195+ research papers/articles on English Literature, Language, Education and Management related themes. He has published 24 books.
 
Dr. Simran Yadav, Ph.D. Research Scholar, Department of English, School of Language, Literature and Arts, SUBIS Sanchi M.P. She has completed her Post Graduation in English Literature, from SUBIS, Sanchi M.P. and completed her M.Phil. as well. She regularly takes part inResearch Workshops/Seminars/Conferences and presents her research papers in various seminars of national & international repute. She is adjudged with Best Paper Presenter Award in the 10th International Conference held at VSOM, Indore. Her areas of interest include exploring the genre of fiction, myths and legends, feminism and comparative.
 
Ms. Ashima Arora, Ph.D. Research Scholar, SUBIS, Sanchi, MP. She has completed her Post Graduation in English Literature from the Department of Comparative Language and Culture, Barkatullah University, M.P. Her areas of interest in academics are British Literature American Literature, Russian Literature, Commonwealth Literature, and Literary Criticism.
 
Ms. Megha Nagele, Ph.D. Research Scholar, Department of English, School of  Language, Literature and Arts, SUBIS, Sanchi, MP. She has completed her Post Graduationin English Literature, from SUBIS, Sanchi M.P. She is interested in Calligraphy, Writing Poems and taking active part in Literary Activities.  
 
Ms. Kriti Pradhan, Ph.D. Research Scholar, Department of English, School of  Language, Literature and Arts, SUBIS, Sanchi, MP. She has completed her Post Graduation in English Literature from Jain College Vidisha (MP). She is keen to take up Research Projects in Child Education and Adult Literacy Programmes.
