Grimms' Fairy Tales (first published in 1812 as Children's and Household Tales) is a celebrated collection of traditional folk and fairy tales gathered by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. The collection contains some of the world's most famous stories, including Cinderella, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, and Rapunzel. While originally drawn from oral folklore and local traditions, the Grimms shaped the tales into literary form, preserving their dark, moralistic, and fantastical qualities. These stories are filled with magic, cautionary lessons, and archetypal struggles between good and evil, making them timeless classics for both children and adults. Jacob Grimm (1785-1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786-1859), known together as the Brothers Grimm, were German scholars, linguists, and folklorists. They devoted their lives to preserving German folklore, mythology, and language. Beyond their fairy tale collections, they made major contributions to philology and compiled the monumental German Dictionary. Their fairy tales, however, became their most enduring legacy, influencing literature, psychology, and popular culture across the world
